XLOOKUP is a more powerful function that will eventually make functions like VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP and LOOKUP redundant. The XLOOKUP performs the same as a VLOOKUP, however, is much more flexible.
Here are the advantages of XLOOKUP over VLOOKUP:
- No longer do you need to worry about the lookup column being first in your table
- You save time – as the basic version of XLOOKUP assumes you are looking for exact matches by default
- You don’t need to see the #NA error anymore as one of the arguments allows you to customise the message for the user if the item isn’t found
XLOOKUP will ONLY be available to Office 365 subscribers
